family portrait progress

with the skin tones painted I cant wait to get started on all that hair!!

Happiness is a tatty old bench in the sun...

This always makes me smile...to see Barney enjoying the sun, sitting on his bench in the garden. He looks really happy when the sun comes out!

a small part of a big family, portrait

here is a picture that I am working on at the moment. still in progression of committing the pencil lines to pen...and making a few mistakes here and there which will hopefully disappear with the addition of a little paint!

here is the old look, much more cluttered and a bumpy carpet!

New look for Chalk Gallery, Lewes

Here is a preview of the gallery after the refurbishment inside...and a preview of some of the new artist's work. It feels so spacious now, and looks lovely and bright. There will be a coat of paint for the outside too, but we are waiting for the weather to warm up a bit for that!

back on Pulteney Bridge, Bath

this is tricky! trying to draw the other side of Pulteney Bridge to match the painting from last summer, I don't have that one anymore... I know however that it was the full length of my sheet of paper! so that has been my measurement!
regretting my decision to put in a horse and carriage...I wonder if it will stay there or trot off!!

My painting on tv..

ok, so it's quite a few years ago now...but wanted to share when my painting got on tv. I doubt Peter Andre still has it though...it was the house he shared with Katie! I wonder what happened to it...

Pre selected for R I exhibition at Mall Galleries!

I am so pleased, one big step closer to my goal of getting exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters In Watercolour...have just heard that my two pub paintings have been pre selected! sadly doesnt mean they will definately go up on the wall, but at least the selectors do want to see them in the flesh...and I can have a day out in London. (get some more inspiration, there are so many amazing buildings!)

Lewes Market Tower ... first splash of colour

well, it's not all completely drawn yet, but I couldn't resist finally getting my watercolours out for the first time this year and laying on some washes. Umbers and Ochres, reds and purples and Ultramarine all getting dropped in there as I enjoyed myself watching paint do its thing!

Lewes Friday Market

A new project for the New Year. There is an historic Market Tower in Lewes which, having sat unloved for many years and become nothing more than a short cut from a car park has now been brought back to life and made Lewes a Market Town once again.
Now I need to breath some life in to my drawing!
