Found my postcard in Sally Lunn's, Bath

Yesterday I had some time in Bath, and in Sally Lunn's tea rooms (the oldest house in Bath and home to the original Bath Bun...) I found my postcard for sale!! so I bought one.

Newick Park finished

Final decisions made on the my Newick Park painting. A little extra shadow and where to crop it.
I think it feels open and hopefully you get an impression of the wonderful view towards Black Cap on the South Downs.

First paint on the House Portrait gift

Well, there are still some decisions to be made on the drawing, especially at the bottom of the picture, but I could at least get started with the paint. Picking out the red bricks will make it easier to find the leaves and the trees. Next the brown bricks...

The Birthday Present Commission takes shape

Today I sat in Chalk Gallery and drew...and drew! This is a house in a leafy suburb, so the leaves are important! I began the picture drawing them (and the birds) and worked backwards to the windows and the roof. This one is on quite a large scale for me, pretty much filling A2, so my people are bigger than usual.
Maybe tomorrow I will get some paint on...

We went to the baby naming ceremony of our neighbours two little boys at the weekend...so time for a little name picture each.

Charity Christmas card plans

well, we are into June and it's time to think about Christmas!! (sorry) I have been planning a Charity Christmas card. Carol singers and Harveys Brewery...I think it might need something else...
The colours are all blobbed on with a dirty brush so the sunset is a bit brown! will hopefully look better in the real thing.

Brighton Seafront gets some paint

first washes went on the two new paintings today. First I had fun with some blue masking fluid and splashed all over the beach to add some sparkle to my pebbles! a few shadows and darker blues started to help Sea Haze take shape. sky next...but its a very big one this time...
