The Florist is nearly all drawn out

time for a break from drawing all those little flowers...my eyes are starting to boggle! just a couple more things here and there..then I can get painting!

Planning my painting of the Florists

these rough sketches are a good way of finding out if I am planning the right colours! My first choice of a glowing yellow florist just did not suit the painting...so I ripped up some rough paper, painted it with blues and stuck it on...much better and will of course show off the flowers so much better. I also will change the red on the left to something maybe more bluey.

Here's how I am working up my latest painting. I seem to be working on lots of different ones at the moment. It will be good to get finishing some of them! It is a view of English's in Brighton.

Pulteney Bridge almost ready for colour

All quiet at home today, just me and my dog! So I am back drawing Pulteney Bridge...it's a long one, but nearly all there now...looking forward to splashing on my colours.
