Progress of painting a Christmas Card for Lewes

Original photos and sketchbook plans

blue mask splattered for snow and the first washes are on

more paint, and rubbed off some of the masked snow
More contrasting colours are bringing it to life..

Snow paintings are enjoyable to paint! I splattered my masking fluid around, then decided on a wash of colours for the sky, in the sketchbook, before attacking the real thing. I work quickly and with the painting upside down, mustnt stop for anything here! It has dried in patches here and there, possibly due to a brush being a bit too wet when touching up an edge, but that should slowly disappear as more snow goes on.
Next step is the people and the windows...the bit that takes the longest, as I dither over what colours to use!!
